Happy Independence Day

To celebrate Independence Day, our local newspaper wrapped its front section in a special patriotic cover:

On the back was a feel-good patriotic quiz featuring many of the questions asked on citizenship naturalization exams.  If you can answer "what is the capital of the U.S.?" you can feel patriotic and intelligent.

On the inside of the wrapper sheet was a two-page gun ad.

If I had prepared this patriotic quiz, I might have included the question "On average, how many Americans are shot to death every day?"

Answer:  "91"

Or maybe this one:  "what are the two most universally ignored words in the U.S. Constitution?"

Answer:  "well-regulated"
